Rainbows

Rainbows are great for photography. They come and they may go quickly. So we need to work fast to get the images we want. Polarizer filters work well with rainbows (you can also eliminate rainbows with a polarizer if you really have to). Rainbows can get us so excited that we only focus on the rainbow forgetting about composition. We can find ourselves clicking away without attempting to find more and different compositions. We may even forget that we have other lenses that may change the composition totally.

          When a rainbow shows itself:

  • Act quickly

  • Think about composition

  • Use your polarizer to maximize the colors

  • Changes your lenses to get different images (watch for rain)(be safe, lightning can kill you)

  • Wait. If the rainbow lingers, just wait. Clouds will change and present you with more images

This rainbow appeared and stayed for just a few minutes. I shot wider, I zoomed in. I included clouds as they changed. Three different images were captured.
